Passionate About Cosmos, Driven by Curiosity
“I would rather have questions that can’t be answered
than answers that can’t be questioned.”
— Richard Feynman

About Me 👾
Yooo! I’m Bhumik, your friendly neighborhood physics enthusiast with an incurable case of curiosity. While most kids were busy playing video games, I was busy counting stars and wondering if black holes have feelings.
I’m on a mission to prove that physics isn’t just about boring equations; it’s actually the coolest way to explore the universe (and maybe even bend the rules a bit). I’m fascinated by things like the black hole quantum information paradox (a fancy way of saying, “I love thinking about stuff that makes most people’s brains hurt.”)
When I’m not lost in my cosmogyral thoughts, you can find me trying to strum a guitar, clicking photos, writing poetry that nobody asked for, or losing at chess (but winning at life).
If you’re into space, creativity, or just want to chat about the cosmos over coffee, I’m your person!

Hobbies and Interests ✨
Stargazing
Stargazing is my window into the universe’s mysteries. Having conversations with the constellations offers me moments of self-reflection and wonder. It’s about appreciating the night sky, understanding our place in the universe, and fueling my passion for space. 💫
Basketball
Trying to score points and occasionally looking graceful doing it. As a state-level player, I’m always pushing my limits on the court. When I’m not perfecting my handles, I’m dreaming of the day I’ll finally nail that dunk. 🏀
Guitar
Strumming my way through life’s playlist 🎸✨ (sounds fancy, ayy!) For someone who’s been playing guitar for over 2 years, I’d say I’m pretty good at it.
Formula 1
F1 has been a major passion of mine for over a decade. As a loyal Tifosi and an avid Ferrari fan, I can proudly say that supporting Ferrari is like watching your favorite chef set the kitchen on fire every Sunday: confusing, painful, and somehow, you still come back hungry for more. Anxiety? Check. Trust issues? Double check. Forza Ferrari! 🏎️❤️
Poetry
Crafting verses that range from deep to delightfully obscure. My poetry is like pizza: even when it’s not great, it’s still pretty good. It’s my way of turning emotions into art, with a dash of whimsy. I’m working on publishing a collection of 20 poems :)
Chess
Chess teaches so much about life: accountability, predicting opponents’ moves, critical thinking, and best use of your resources. With 1800 ELO on Chess.com and being best in school, my strategy involves deep thinking and the occasional ‘oops’ move.
Yoga
Being a certified yoga instructor, I find joy in guiding others towards physical well-being and mental clarity. Teaching lets me practice myself and share that balance with others, whether it’s calming a chaotic day or simply getting people to breathe a little deeper. It’s not about perfect form; it’s about finding your own flow, one breath at a time. 🧘
Coffee Enthu
I. LOVE. COFFEE. 🗣️🗣️
It is my daily ritual and the sole source of power for surviving through research, the gym, projects, and my creative outlets. (My fav is Ethiopian pour-over.)
Photography
My iPhone and I have a pact: it captures the beauty of life while I try not to look too awkward in front of it. Here are some of my captures! 📷
Trekking
Trekking is my escape from the daily grind, a chance to reconnect with nature and myself. I felt the deepest connection during the Rupin Pass trek, 16,000 ft above sea level. Up there, it’s not just a trek, it’s a form of meditation.
Cooking
If you can imagine it, you can put it on a plate. I taught myself to cook by experimenting with recipes (mostly to satisfy my midnight cravings). And now it’s a fun way to get creative and enjoy new flavors. 👨🍳
Community Service Projects 👥
Community service isn’t just something I do, it’s a part of who I am. I’ve learned that real change happens when we lead with purpose and act with heart. Whether it’s teaching, cleaning up, or lending a hand where it’s needed most, each project is a chance to connect, learn, and make a small but meaningful impact. These experiences have taught me the value of empathy, action, and the simple joy of helping others. Here’s a look at some of the projects close to my heart.

What I’m Working On 👨💻
Are Those Planets?
Building a deep learning pipeline that stares at starlight for hours so I don’t have to. I feed it brightness recordings from NASA’s TESS satellite, it learns to spot the tiny dip a planet makes when it crosses its star, and we both pretend this is a normal thing to do on a Tuesday. Thousands of light curves, one neural network, and a concerning amount of Python. It’s going well so far (I think).
Helping Kids Get Out
I’m working with students who want to study in the US. I sit down with them, their parents, and occasionally their panic. We go through their profile honestly, figure out what’s actually worth fixing (which is usually A LOT), and build a plan that makes sense. I landed upwards of ₹1.5 crore (≈ $157K) in scholarships myself, so I at least know what I’m talking about.
A Solo Trek
Planning a solo trek to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, sitting at 12,100 feet in the Himalayas. I’m going alone, with no fixed plans, no guide, and no return ticket. Just cold air and thin oxygen. Some places you visit, and some places call you. This is the latter.
